With the Hunter Mill District just a mile east of the core service area. If your street isn't listed by name, call and ask, the housing patterns and spring failures we see are consistent across most of this stretch regardless of which side of the line you're on.
The Jobs That Come Up Most
Broken torsion springs top the list, and it's almost always on doors from that 1980s-90s stretch of construction, the springs were rated for a certain number of cycles and they've been doing daily duty for three or four decades. Second most common is opener failure: circuit boards that finally give out, or drive gears that strip after years of cold-weather strain during that moderate winter band. Cable fraying shows up together with spring failure often enough that we check both any time one lets go, since a cable that's been carrying uneven load for months is usually close behind. Track misalignment is common on the older end of the housing range, where settling foundations have shifted the opening just enough that rollers start binding. We also see a fair number of calls for panel damage, a car backing into a closed door, or a section dented from ice buildup during a cold snap. One thing we're upfront about: if your opener is old enough that the manufacturer no longer makes boards or logic units for it, we're not going to chase down a discontinued part for weeks. At that point replacement is usually the faster and cheaper path, and we'll tell you that instead of stringing out a repair.
Service Area FAQs
How far out do you go for service calls?
We cover Reston and areas out to roughly a 14-mile radius, including places like Springfield, Manassas Park, and Burke. If you're near the edge of that range, call and we'll confirm before scheduling.
Do you come out beyond Reston itself?
Yes. Most of our calls come from within about 15 miles of our Sunrise Valley Dr address, places like Oakton, Great Falls, Tysons, Falls Church, and Annandale. Distance from Reston is the main thing that affects scheduling, not whether we'll take the job.
Tell Us What the Door Is Doing
Call and we'll say whether it sounds like a spring, a cable, a roller or an opener board, and roughly what we will need to bring.
